The Stolen Generation Cope

The Stolen Generation Cope book by international artist Terry Duffy is an essential hardback book that will be fascinating for artists, designers, researchers of Australian indigenous history and those interested in the power of art to challenge history and change culture. 

The book accompanies and enhances the incredible groundbreaking artwork and vestment by Duffy. Commissioned by the offices of the Archbishop of Canterbury at Lambeth Palace London. Conceived as a gesture of truth-telling, reconciliation, and justice. The artwork and sacred vestment created by Duffy confronts one of the most painful legacies of British colonialism: the intergenerational trauma of Australia’s Stolen Generation when First Nation children were forcibly taken from their families, and culture under state and church authority. 
Within the book Duffy describes the intensely challenging process of creating the work. A work that he felt needed to be more than a gesture, but an enduring catalyst for Truth, Reconciliation and Justice.
